How delectable are the chicken gyros? Which ingredients are required to make it?

If you love Greek food, then you are sure to be a huge fan of the Chicken Gyros recipe. This could be a simple dish but you cannot ignore its delectable taste and nutritional value. If you do not want to try this dish when it’s plain, then you can surely consider enjoying it with the tzatziki sauce. You can also enjoy it by placing the chicken thighs in the yogurt mix.

Guaranteed

Just consume one bite of the gyros, you are sure to finish the entire plate in no time.

Due to COVID, no one wants to go out of the home and enjoy such dishes in the restaurants. So you can surely satisfy your tastebuds by cooking this at home.

So check out our recipe for the gyros.

To make this, you will require the following ingredients:

INGREDIENTS

For marinating

  • chicken thighs pounded
  • Greek Yoghurt
  • Paprika powder
  • Coriander Powder
  • Cumin Powder
  • Lemon Juice
  • olive oil
  • Salt
  • Minced garlic cloves
  • Cinnamon powder
  • Black Pepper

For serving

  • flatbreads
  • Sliced Onion
  • Sliced tomatoes

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1:

First of all, we shall be doing the necessary preparations for the marination. Take a large bowl. In that, mix all the subsequent ingredients:

  • Greek Yogurt
  • Garlic Cloves
  • Coriander Powder
  • Cinnamon Powder
  • Lemon Juice
  • Paprika
  • Cumin powder

Mix all the dry ingredients.

STEP 2:

Now, evenly coat the chicken thighs in the prepared mixture. Once all the pieces of the chicken get evenly coated, then you should refrigerate them for about 2 hours ( if you are supposed to cook it on the same day) otherwise you can refrigerate them overnight to make sure that all the flavors are nicely blended.

STEP 3:

Now, it’s time for you to use the small bowl. Place a clean muslin cloth on the top of the bowl. And on that grate the cucumber and squeeze it out to drain out the excess water. Now add the grated cucumber to another bowl. In the same bowl, also add the following ingredients:

  • Greek Yogurt
  • Garlic Lemon Juice
  • chopped dill
  • Parsley
  • salt
  • pepper

Mix all the ingredients.

STEP 4:

Now remove the chicken from the fridge and do not add anything to it until it comes back to the normal room temperature. Now take a large pan, put some oil in it, and heat it on medium flame.

STEP 5:

Divide the marinated chicken batches and put them to fry for about 5 to 10 minutes.

STEP 6:

Once the chicken is evenly cooked, then put it out on the plate and try to shred all the slices into bite-size pieces.

STEP 7:

This step is my favorite. In it, you have to flatten the greek bared. On it put a scoop of the shredded gyros. After that, make it layered with onions and tomatoes. Wind it up by adding the tzatziki sauce.

If you have done some modifications to the recipe, then make sure you are telling us in detail. We shall get help from you to improve our recipe also.
